In my last post, a little over 5 months ago, I talked about attempting two trips to Romania this year. For many reasons, the trip for my birthday didn’t happen. I am, however, trying to make the other trip happen.
I want to visit Bucharest in late November, early December. I want to be there for National Day, or Great Union Day, on December 1. This is the national holiday of Romania. It marks the unification of Transylvania, Bessarabia, and Bukovina with the Romanian Kingdom in 1918. This year will be their centennial and I’m sure that they will celebrate accordingly.
I also want to be in Bucharest for the Târgul de Crâciun București, the Bucharest Christmas Market, which opens on December 1st.
I have already made cancellable reservations for a beautiful apartment near the old city, thanks to Nico with Metropole Apartments.
Wish me luck making it happen.
București, iubirea mea, mi-e dor de tine în fiecare zi.
Bucharest, my love, I miss you every day.
